How do I get my UNCG FirstCard Plus?

To get a UNCG FirstCard Plus, visit the UNCG FirstCard Center, located in Elliott University Center (Room 121). A FirstCard representative is there to assist you from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Please bring the following things with you to our office when having your FirstCard made.

Students

• Proof of Registration - printout of class schedule from UNCGenie or paid bill

• Picture ID – this must be government issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport. If you do not have government issued photo identification, the FirstCard Center will accept your original birth certificate and social security card. Together, these two documents can take the place of a photo ID.

• University ID Number – your UNCG ID Number is a 9 digit number given to you on your acceptance letter. The FirstCard Center will need to have this number in order to find your record.

If you are interested in receiving the UNCG FirstCard Plus Visa Check Card, you will need to bring proof of your Wachovia checking account with you.

Returning Students: If you received a UNCG FirstCard during fall 2002 or after, you will not need to have a new one made. If you no longer have your FirstCard, you must follow the steps above for new students.

Faculty/Staff

• Picture ID – this must be government issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport. If you do not have government issued photo identification, the FirstCard Center will accept your original birth certificate and social security card. Together, these two documents can take the place of a photo ID.

• Banner Record – the FirstCard Center will look you up in the Banner system and must be able to verify that you have an active assignment with you University in order to make your card.

• University ID Number – your UNCG ID Number is a 9 digit number. Faculty may obtain this number through the Provost Office and Staff will need to speak with the Human Resources Department. The FirstCard Center will need to have this number in order to find your record.

If you have already received a UNCG FirstCard but would like to update to a FirstCard Plus, you must bring your most recent card into the UNCG FirstCard Center and exchange it for the new card.
