To receive a SpartanCard, Faculty/Staff members must present a picture ID and be in the Banner System with an active job assignment.
Your new card identifies you as an employee of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Here are some of its other uses:

This is your library card. You can use your SpartanCard to check out materials from any of the campus libraries.

There are two ways to add value to your card. You can apply any amount of money to Spartan Express through Payroll Deduct (forms available at the SpartanCard Center). The money will be deducted from your paycheck and applied to your card by noon on the 1st of every month. You can also add money to Spartan Express by coming into our office and filling out a short form. This allows you to add as much money as you would like, whenever you like. There is usually a 10 to 15 minute wait for this money to be applied to your card. Spartan Express entitles you to a $1 discount at the Cafeteria and a 6% discount at other eating facilities around campus. You can also add SpartanCash to the card. This also entitles you to a $1 discount at the Cafeteria but not to a 6% at other eating facilities.

When you present your SpartanCard at the UNCG Bookstore you can receive a 20% discount on select merchandise.
