Adding E-Cash to your UNCG FirstCard Plus

Up to $150 can be stored as E-Cash for use around campus. ECash cannot be recovered if your card is lost or stolen.

Store up to $2000 on your UNCG FirstCard Plus in your E-Cash2 purse, protected by a self-selected four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). E-Cash2 is available for use in the UNCG Bookstore, the Gove Student Health Center, ResNet and Parking Services. E-Cash2 may be transferred to E-Cash (described above) at any time.

E-Cash2 can be added to your card at the UNCG FirstCard Center in person (cash, credit cards, checks), over the phone (credit or debit cards) or via mail (checks). See the instructions below for more information on adding money to E-Cash2. If your card is lost or stolen, ECash 2 can be recovered and replaced after two business days.

How To Put E-Cash On Your Card

Method I - Cash

  1. Go to any Cash to Chip Re-Value Station on campus.

  2. Put your UNCG FirstCard Plus in the card reader.

  3. Wait to see your E-Cash balance.

  4. Put in any combination of $1, $5, $10, or $20.

  5. Start spending the money on your card.

Method II - Credit Card*

  1. Parents can call the UNCG FirstCard Center at (336)334-5651 to add money using their Visa® or Mastercard®.

  2. You will be notified to come to the UNCG FirstCard Center to have the money added.

  3. Amounts over $150 can be stored as E-Cash2 (PIN protected) on your UNCG FirstCard Plus.

  4. Start spending the money on your card. If you are a parent applying money, your student will be notified that money is waiting to be placed on their card and in what amount.

Method III - Check

  1. Parents can write a check to UNCG for any amount.

  2. Please mail checks to:

  3. Or, parents can simply drop off a check at the UNCG FirstCard Center located in Elliott University Center (EUC), room 121.

  4. Start spending the money on your card.

If your parents are applying money to your FirstCard Plus, you will be notified that money is waiting to be placed on your card and in what amount. You will then need to visit the UNCG FirstCard Center to have the money applied to your card.
